Steph and Stuart booked me way back at the beginning of 2017 for their late summer wedding in September in Castleton, Steph was incredibly organised and pretty much had the whole day planned 18 months prior to their big day.
The afternoon of their wedding I met Steph and her Bridesmaids at the Norton Grange where they had stayed the night before, along with the couples Daughter and niece who would be flower girls for the day. Hair and makeup was well underway and all the girls were looking fabulous! I did my thing with dress and shoes and all the other bits you buy to make your day special whilst the girls enjoyed a glass of bubbly – although Steph had a brew on the go as well! I was very impressed that Steph had made all of the cream and navy flower bouquets herself, they looked great.
Before the ceremony I had a chance to sneak out of Bridal prep to meet Stuart and his bestman, the couples 9 year old Son who wore matching Tuxedos. They looked incredibly smart and Stuart was quite relaxed surprisingly. Back at the room and the bridesmaids were wearing Navy blue Jumpsuits and I’ve got to say I was beyond excited to see them on, such a different idea and they rocked the look perfectly!
The wedding took place in The Hopwood suite of the Hotel where the chairs had Navy sashes to complete the look. Steph had made sure her Bridesmaids knew exactly when to come down the aisle spending the night before practising their walks in time to the music.
Their ceremony was an inmate one and the bestman did a cracking job of looking after those rings for Mum and Dad. After the serious bit guests were able to enjoy a glass of fizz before I pulled everyone outside for group shots before the rain started again. The weather was a dull and it kept threatening to rain but I worked fast and I captured some beautiful romantic portraits of the newly weds together whilst giving them a few minutes alone, away from guests to just take it all in. Steph and Stuart were both really relaxed in the front of the camera and I think Stuart secretly enjoyed the attention, he definitely didn’t stop smiling at his beautiful bride.
The wedding reception was taking place in The Hopwood suite again and their cake was definitely a focal point. It looked and smelt amazing! So much details had gone into the icing, it was probably one of my most favourite cakes of 2018. Stunning. The couple had personalised Bath Bombs and soaps as favourites which I thought was a great idea, definitely unique.
The Bride and Groom met at work 11 years prior to tying the knot and I think she had waited long enough to become Mrs Marchington!
Steph wore a lace dress with a beautiful back piece by Mark Lesley that she purchased from Brides of Rochdale and Matthew wore a very stylish black Tuxedo and bowtie. They both looked incredible.
They say if you’re planning a wedding, enjoy every minute because it really does go way to quick and not to stress about everything being perfect because things will go wrong but it doesn’t matter by the end.
Here’s their beautiful stylish Navy Hotel wedding!
