Danni and Dillon got married at the Fairfield Golf Club, Audenshaw, Manchester, this July. It was an beautiful summery wedding, with flowers and tea lights all over the tables with pots of popcorn as tasty favours for their guests.
The couple met at high school at 14 years old and have been together for 8 years, real childhood sweethearts! Dillon joined the British Army at the age of 16 so they have spent so much time apart over the years, Danni has been such a support to him turning this time whilst building his career and you can see she is super proud of her new husband. They are such a fun couple and I think Jodie and I laughed all day with the both of them and their family and friends.
Bride and groom prep
I met with Danni at her Mum’s house that she literally just moved out of the week earlier, where she was getting ready with her a few of her bridesmaids and her adorable little dog, Pepper! I love being with the girls in the morning especially when they were as relaxed as these girls, plenty of prosecco and a giant cookie was the way to go that morning! Her Mum and maids presented Danni with a memory charm containing her Nana’s ashes so she could be with her on her big day, such as special and thoughtful touch to her stunning bouquet. Dillon sent over a parcel for Danni to open that morning filled with Disney related gifts for their new home, including an apron – which of course I made her pose in!
She wore stunning lace covered Anna Sorrano wedding dress with a veil, and looked absolutely amazing. As well as her beautiful wedding shoes she obviously had to have some bridal converse for comfort later on in the day. The Bridesmaids all wore amazing glam sparkly rose gold dresses from ASOS and looked fab together ready to support Danni on her big day.
Jodie met with Dillon who was getting ready at the couples newly bought home, that they had just moved into a week earlier – great timing! Dillon had all 8 of his groomsmen with him, his Dad and Danni’s Step Dad, who had cooked a massive breakfast for the lads that morning, surprised any of them could get in their suits afterwards!
He wore his Mess suit as he is currently serving in the Army and obviously a huge part of the couples life, and looked extremely dapper. The boys travelled to the ceremony Venue together in a encourage of cars as the only had a short distance to go. All the groomsmen and all the Dad’s wore blue matching blue suits which complimented the couples colour scheme perfectly.
The ceremony took place in a beautiful upstairs room of Fairfield the Golf club in Audenshaw. The ceremony area was a lovely room, that overlooked the golf course which has some great views and it was such a gorgeous day as the rain held off. It was a really lovely ceremony, full of nervous giggles between the 2 of them especially when Danni just couldn’t get Dillon’s Wedding ring on!
After the ceremony and group photos we wandered around the venue doing portrait photos. The weather was dry but incredibly windy, but they still went out for photos with Jodie and I. This is a such a great time for the newly married couple to have some time to let it all sink in and give them a few minutes to themselves to get some posed as well as candid neutral photos of them together. The wind help greatly whilst getting a shot with Danni’s veil which we required assistance with and ‘Veil man’ was born!
Everyone was then called in for the wedding breakfast, which was a roast dinner and we so pleased to be given the same as the guests whilst they ate – it was absolutely delicious, especially dessert! They had speeches after the dessert, which were really funny and most likely embarrassing for Dillons with tale of his childhood retold by Brother and Bestman – The best speech I have ever seen however was rapped to the happy couple by Danni’s bridesmaid & cousin, she killed it!! Video of which can be seen below – hopefully!
After the speeches Danni decided to throw her bouquet although this was totally gatecrashed by Dillon’s dad and a groomsmen – WHO ONLY WENT AND CAUGHT IT! We thought it was only fair Danni threw it again for all the single ladies and before the boys were lynched!
The whole wedding was so much fun, from the bride’s awesome dress to the amazing ‘Dad and Daughter’ dance Danni had with her Dad and Step Dad, a very touching moment where I know more than a few guest shed a tear. The couple’s first dance felt incredibly romantic whilst they were lost in each other, so much love in the room for the both of them. Their ‘Mr & Mrs lights made a great backdrop too!
The couple says that if you’re planning your wedding, the biggest piece of advice they could give you is enjoy the day, don’t stress the little things, if something has gone wrong or the weather isn’t great, you can’t change it, so don’t let it bother you.
I loved this Military feel wedding so much with being an Army brat myself it brought me some real nostalgic memories for me! If you’re getting married and looking for a fun and relaxed wedding photographer, get in touch. Here are some the awesome photos from their day!
