When Lisa and Craig first got in touch with me about their civil ceremony wedding in Eccles, I was so excited – they were planning a stylish, romantic wedding with a live band, a photobooth and even a magician. Lisa and Craig seemed like the most loveliest relaxed couple and I couldn’t wait to shoot their wedding!
The excitement before the wedding
I rocked up at The Marriott Hotel in Worsley where the bride and bridesmaids Emma, Amy and little Harper were getting ready together. It was a really chilled morning in the sunny weather and it was a great opportunity to get some images of the all girls. I love bridal prep for this reason and for getting those little details of the day, such as her Dress and Jewellery. Lisa also had a special ‘Memory Charm’ with a photo of her Mum in for her flowers, this was a incredibly special touch bought by her friend Emma.
Lisa wore a stunning lace Stella York wedding dress with an amazing veil (I get very excited over long veil’s!) with bridesmaids in Baby Pink lace fitted dresses. Craig and his groomsmen wore matching 3 piece Royal blue suits, the whole bridal party looked incredible.
Once ready Lisa arrived at their venue ready to walk down the aisle with son Jonathan in a vintage cream Bentley wedding car.
The wedding took place at Monton Sports Club , and it was held in a beautifully decorated room. Lisa walked down the aisle to a live singing performance which was lovely; a real unique touch. Lisa and Craig were the very first couple to exchange vows and legally marry at the Monton so it was an exciting day for everyone all round. Nina, the venue’s Wedding co-ordinater and the rest of the team really did pull all the stops out to make the ceremony room look amazing.
The wedding reception took place in the main room of the Monton, which they’d decorated with with a rustic feel table planner decorated with Lantens and sashes in the couples colours, cream flowers centre-pieces and the best favours I’ve seen this year – FLAVOURED GIN in smart little personalised bottles. Lisa very Kindly gave me a few to take home & they were lush! The venue had also put up illuminated ‘MR & MRS’ letters up behind the top table which really set the room off. It was a brilliantly decorated room for the happy couple.
It was a bright and sunny day, which was what the couple had hoped for so while the guests enjoyed GnT’s, I took Lisa and Craig off to take some private portraits. I loved shooting the couple, they were both so relaxed and looked so very much in love – I got some really lovely images of the both of them. My favourite photo from our portrait session was by far their veil shot (told you I loved a long veil). The candid shots of Lisa and Craig under the trees really show the love between them, they were so laid back whilst posing that we all had a giggle. Such an amazing couple!
During the reception they had a magician, which went down a storm although Craig was clearly confused and impressed by the close up magic tricks with the dice, much to Lisa’s amusement. For the wedding breakfast they had a roast dinner, and it was super yummy and after the meal they had some wonderful speeches, from Craig, Bestman Lee & Lisa’s son Jonathan. They also had a photo booth in the evening, which kept everyone entertained, especially the kids! Throughout the evening live music was played by Strumtap an Acoustic duo with singer Brian Hobbs (who also sang Lisa down the aisle). They were amazing! Strumtap had everyone up dancing with a mix of indie and more recent songs including ‘Hey Ho’ by The Lumineers. I would definitely recommend checking them out – link below!
Lisa and Craig met on a night out in Swinton 11 years ago and Craig actually proposed on their 10th Anniversary. They say if you’re planning a wedding, ‘try not to stress too much it all works on the day’. The best part of the day for Lisa was walking down the aisle towards Craig, and seeing old friends sharing their big day.
